About A Bird

Yes, that is the hindquarters of a rubber chicken.  They happen to be sticking out of an airplane wing at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum.  When I noticed this, I asked a guy working at the museum if perchance my eyes did deceive me, or if I did correctly see the arse-end of a rubber fowl up there.  Apparently he had never noticed this before, and had no explanation. “Must be somebody’s idea of a joke,” he said, and shrugged.  The chicken is probably not there anymore, but there is still a taxidermied bat at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History which I am convinced has fake bat-balls glued on.  I have a picture of that, too, but this is a family show.
